Deepti is a filmmaker & cinematographer, and an alumna of the Film Institute, Pune (FTII). Her debut directorial feature documentary, Shut Up Sona had a dream run at the world’s top festivals like IFFR Rotterdam, HotDocs, DocNYC, Sheffield Doc/Fest and more. It also received the National Film Award for Editing, and won her the Film Critics Guild Award (Special Mention) for gender sensitivity at MAMI. Having worked across many media and being enriched by them, she loves to mix genres and has fun while doing it. She has shot many international documentaries, commercials, feature films and music videos as a DoP, (Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Fakir of Venice, Laxmi & Me, Rabbi Shergill’s ‘Bulla’ to name a few). Her first fiction short ‘The Proof’ which she co-directed and shot, received the ‘Best Narrative Short Fiction at Brooklyn International Film Festival in 2020.
